The inevitable hit-by-car January Opossum.
He did fine & was released in Spring. |

A
grebe that I was given the honor of releasing over the winter. |

Gulls with matching broken wings, repaired
and overwintered together.

Mrs. T, a barred owl who came in with a broken wing. The bone was set with a pin, which was removed when it healed. Now she needs flight exercise to regain her strength and muscle tone.

Jesse is another barred owl who was most likely hit by a car. He came in with blood in his mouth & eye and loss of eyesight due to significant head trauma. He now sees well and is showing his
warrior stance. Photos often point up eye problems and you can see the difference in his eyes reaction to the flash. Fortunately, owls are often releasable even with only one good eye.

I've never had barred owls fail to get along when placed together. These
two shared a cage briefly before splitting up, one to be released, and one to be
sent to a flight cage for flight conditioning.
